It is a sport played between two opposing teams, each consisting of four rowers who compete to pull a boat across a centreline. Similar to a water-based version of tug-of-war, the objective is to overpower the other team using coordinated strokes. The sport relies heavily on physical strength, teamwork, and proper rowing techniques, making strategy and synchronization just as important as raw power. It is an exciting test of endurance & unity, often drawing crowds for its intense and fast-paced competition.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Only cadets who know how to swim will be allowed to participate in the event.
- The team consists of 5 individuals (4 participants and 1 standby).
- Participants are only allowed to use the paddles provided by the event coordinators.
- Life jackets will not be provided.
- Swimming suits will not be provided.
- Participants must bring their own swimming suit.
RULES:
- Tug-of-oars is a sport consisting of two opposing team of four rowers attempting to row a boat across a centre line.
- Two boats will be attached by a rope
- If a Team loses, the will be eliminated from the events
- Participant’s will have a demo session before event.
- Referee’s decision is final
