Rules and Regulations

All members must wear proper attire: clean boiler suit and polished boiler shoes.

All safety gear must be properly worn, secured, and ready for use.

Equipment must be inspected for serviceability. Any defects must be reported and replacements requested before departure.

If equipment failure occurs during rowing (e.g., broken oar or damaged crutch holder), the rescue boat will provide assistance.

On “ship oars,” oars must be placed in the crutch holder parallel to the water surface. Touching the water results in disqualification.

On “stand by,” rowers must lean forward with blades at a 45° angle. Touching the water results in disqualification.

If any oar touches the water before the whistle or command is given, the team will be disqualified.

All rowers must maintain proper synchronization throughout the rowing cycle.

Commands issued by the coxswain must be clear, firm, loud, and followed immediately.

If the boat becomes beached, collides with canal structures, or touches designated buoys, the team will be disqualified.

The team must complete the entire rowing course within 10 minutes and must disembark in headcount order without letting oar blades touch the ground.
