ABOUT Department of Nautical Sciences

The Department of Nautical Science is one of the departments established in 1993 offering Higher National Diploma in nautical science in collaboration with Glasgow College of Nautical Science UK. From A humble beginning catering to 13 students the department has today grown extensively catering to over 1020 cadets pursing 3 year under graduate program in Nautical science approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India as well as cadets pursuing Advance Diploma in Nautical Science approved by the Maritime Coast Guard Agency (MCA), U.K. The strength of the department of nautical science is its faculty and infrastructure. The department is equipped with a team of highly experienced professionals who have a combination of sailing, industry and teaching experience. The department has a full mission ship simulator, Radar and Ecdis simulator, Wheel house, Seamanship laboratory, Container loading simulator and several softwares to provide the cadets hands on experience about ship board operations. AMET University has been awarded consistently with an “Al Outstanding grade for the last 8 years which is a testimonial of the department of Nautical science for its consistent performance.
